it would have to be the canon 100 - 400mm if the choice was mine

an alternative would be the canon 300mm F4 L IS prime ands a canon 1.4x teleconverter giving you 420mm at F5.6
the 300mm canon is an ideal for things like wildlife , sport etc..and is know as one of canons sharpest lenses

or if you want to spend the money a 300mm F2.8 prime but in some ways is not as versatile because of the weight

the chances are if your shooting wildlife you'l use whatever lens you decide on at it's longest end most of the trime
something to keep in mind

I really want a better lens more than 300mm then i can take better photos of birds and animals at distance.

600 F4 is a nice lens

The Canon 100-400 over the Sigma, if you can afford it. I've got the Canon & a Sigma 50-500, Canon wins hands down

the truth of the matter is you'll allways want a longer lens no matter what you buy

How would both of the lenses perform at their maximum focal length? Would the images be sharp or soft?

Not really sure what ISO has to do with whether it can focus or not?
