Just to let you know I ordered the Dell monitor last night from PCBuyIT. I also ordered the Soundbar to go with it. I'm not expecting a lot from them but I do not listen to music on my PC so it's not of paramount importance. Seemed a good idea as there will be two less things cluttering up the desktop.
I was reading an article in this month's BBC Focus magazine reporting on China's severe cut back on rare earth exports. As these rare earths are an essential part of LCD monitors, and China is now pretty much the only source of these, I think this may be why the Viewsonic monitors are out of stock with no firm date for re-stocking. So I decided that what with this and the terrible tragedy in Japan at the moment it might be wise to buy the Dell now before they also run out of stock.
I was also surprised to see that Dell's own website were quoting 3+ weeks for delivery whilst PCBuyIT it is next day? And also a bit cheaper on PCBuyIT.
