Another rip off

Do LEHMANS gobble up all the spare parts sent out by the camera makers, so they can charge what they like? I have a Canon S2 is compact flash that suddenly stopped recording shots. Seem like it`s a card problem. Everything else is fine. Taking it to my local repair shop they contacted around , but no luck, none to be had. I bet if I put it into one of the big shops it would be sent to LEHMANS paying £20 estimate fee then the exorbitant fee for a repair, they would be happy to oblige.

Once had a lens repaired at Lemans cost £200 a friend had the same problem ( focusing ) and was charged £50.00 by Canon!
