Hi JP,

I got the runtime error as well on the first go or two but I figured that had more to do with my rubbish DSL line. I tried again first thing in the morning and it worked fine.

Be sure to get a confirmation that the e-mail option is acceptable so you don't risk your image not being considered.

Best of luck & light!

Hi folks. :-) I'm hoping someone out there can help me...

Like jpgodwin, I too received emails requesting the original, high-res versions of my images. But I'm a bit confused. The original images I took, were taken with a Canon 20D and both are 72dpi. Not exactly 'high-res', as I understand it to be. Am I supposed to change them to 300dpi before submitting them, so that they are print-ready? Or is it okay to submit the 72dpi ones?

Please help. I really don't know what to do and I can't find any info about this, anywhere.

Best of luck to you all and thanks in advance
Marlene :-)

I would have thought that the hi-res file would be from the low res you uploaded to the site.

My question is;

If the comp doesnt finish till the end of the month, why are they asking for these now. have they already decided on what they want, i hope not as i have only just started uploading images!

How do they 'spot' the prospective images, surely not onthe number of votes ? as that would not be fair on any late comers to the comp.

Hi Brodie.

I think they're just trying to get a jump on the pre-selection process by requesting images they already have an interest in... Then again, I could be wrong and they're looking to see the 'original file'. ( I started a thread here about that very question. )

But I wouldn't worry about the votes. One of mine ( that they requested ) had no votes at all in that category.

JP... by any chance was your image in the Digital Vision category?

Hi

I have one question regarding "Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2009" Competition.

So here is a question:
Some time ago I entered a photography competition. One of my photos passed the first stage and got shortlisted but it didn't win the competition. May i still enter this photo to "Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2009" competition?

I think you would be OK, but just read the rules to double check.
Best of luck

Andy
