Q: Uploading pics to websites

In the past I've been lucky to sell some of my pictures. So my question would have to be this;

What would be the ramifications of posting pictures on websites and selling the self same picture to someone else?

I would think that as long as I owned the picture I could post it sell et or give it away freely.

I've done both in the past. It has get me more work giving away free ones so it can be worth taking the risk. I think as long as you don't publicise the fact that you've given photos away free to people too much otherwise people will expect to get free or discounted images then.

As long as the buyer of the image has not claimed sole copyright for the use of the image you can sell it to others.
