Aside from the fact that my oversight in the "typo" having no bearing on whether or not I could be bothered to spell council properly or not, my post was written in as tongue-in-cheek. I could get insulted that you try and denegrate me due to a spelling error but I won't, because that would be a bit pathetic. Wouldn't you agree?
However, although written in jest, it is also an accurate observation. I live on a council estate. I can look out my front window and watch drug deals, fighting, vandalism and any other form of antisocial behaviour you chose to mention. Sometimes I get to watch armed police raids. Sometimes dead bodies are removed from the flats across the road from me but, I digress.
There have also been numerous break-ins in neighbours homes very close to mine. A few years back, while out at a Christmas party, one of my neighbours homes were broken into and all the presents under the tree stolen, along with the TV, money and jewellery. The people picked up for those break-ins were well known career criminals, with strings of convictions who reside on notorious council estates, near to my own.
I'm not saying everyone on a council estate is a thief or worthy of an ASBO. Indeed, there are some very nice people around me. My neighbours especially. However, stolen items invaribaly end up on council estates, where the burglars or their fences reside. I don't see too many burglars residing in country manors or stately homes. Whether you find my observations insulting or not, its a fact of life. Get over it.
