Wink changing greyscale to B&W

Is it possible to turn a greyscale picture to ''normal'' Black and White in elements 6 and if so how? I know it is a form of black and white but not what my friend wants.

Greyscale IS black and white..... just not as editable. Once turned to greyscale, the Red, Green and Blue channels are removed and it really is a collection of grey tones. You can improve contrast but that's about it. I'm wondering why anybody would ever turn their pictures into greyscale. PSE6 has many ways of making B&W images - the least useful one is Greyscale.
