using elements

In this months mag and on the disc there are some tutorials about sorting your images out using photoshop elements for use on selling on stock website. Is it ok then to use elements for commercial purposes?

In the article it used elements for sharpening, etc. With the intention of supplying them to a stock agency. Presumably you would eventually hope to get some money for this image. So what i meant was is it ok to edit an image with elements ( your own pic of course) then sell it - does it infringe the license for the using of elements? An example would be that with student editions of word it says not for commercial use in the license.

"Not for commercial use" means you cannot use it in a business setting, ie at work, because it is for students. You could actually write a manuscript and submit it to a publisher without problem (to use an example similar to yours).

Okay, thank you for the clarification.

No, there is no risk of infringement. On the other hand if you set up a duplication factory and copied your edition Photoshop Elements 9 and sold the copies of it on a Market Stall, then you would find yourself in trouble.

As it is Adobe will not mind you selling your photos that you have sharpened in Elements, to istock or any other outlet.
