Sorry Chris, only just taken another look....

Yes, the timings are better. Just as a side comment, the first incarnation of my website had an animated homepage - I got fed up adding new images to the animation so dropped it and went static again. I use Google Analytics to track visitor numbers and haven't seen a drop off since the change (I would say quite the reverse and I'm getting more visitors than ever but I am actively pushing it at the moment).

Some nice images on your site.

Cheers
Andy

Thanks Andy, yes it's a bit of a dilemma between having a slick simple graphic front page or having a more search engine friendly page. I'm starting to sway toward the latter, just need to get over my mental block for keeping things clean and simple.

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris,

I really like the clean look to your website and the transistion is just about right I think.

I am not too keen on the amount of 'dead' space you have at the top of the page and it almost feels like something hasn't loaded correctly. I would reduce this although it is not essential.

I noticed is that you have several errors in the HTML of your site and I would advise validating the code and making the required changes so that it is compliant with current standards.

This is only a very small point but I noticed that just under the Photographer | Interior part in the top right there are two little white dots. I am not sure if they are part of an image but they look like an oversite. Considering how clean and professional the rest of the site looks I think they stand out.

I really like the gallery and think that it compliments the quality of your site.

I also really like the navigation as it is simple and effective and this is something that a lot of developers get wrong!

Overall I love the look and feel of the site and most importantly the pictures look great!

Many thanks for the comments, you're right about the html, I'm no programmer so it doesn't surprise me that it's full of errors. Any tips on how / where to get it validated?

For the life of me I can't see any dots?! I'll take a look at the space at the top, I was just trying to push the letterbox format lower in the view to balance it a bit better. Maybe a tad too far.

Again, thanks for the feedback.
Chris

You can validate the HTML here:

http://validator.w3.org/

You can validate the CSS here:

http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

The little white dots only appear when I am using a PC and a resolution of 1024x768.

Viewing the site on my Mac is looks perfect.

Good luck with the validation and the visuals really are slick.
