Set your camera to sRGB, as that is what most people use.

TBH I dont think you will notice much difference which one you if you are shooting NEF's. Only some printers prefer SRGB.

It depends.

I use sRGB because that's what most of the rest of the world uses and it avoids colour errors. Adobe RGB has a wider gamut, ie more shades, but is tricky to deal with without high end equipment and a carefully managed workflow. Your monitor, for example, is almost certainly sRGB. I'm assuming here that it cost less than £1500 . . so if you make alterations is Adobe RGB they won't display correctly - you won't, in short, be able to see the effect of changes you are making to colours.

Printers use CMYK which is a additive colour space, most other colour spaces are subtractive.

This is very technical area which could consume pages and pages, but in short, I'd take OldBoy's tip and use sRGB especially if you are planning on putting your pictures on the internet.

I bow to your greater knowledge Hin France, so Nikon's colour modes have I a (SRGB) and III a (SRGB) which one is best?

Or shooting in RAW does it really matter if you process in SRGB.
