The re-edited version is definitely an improvement for the eyes. With the second image the only thing I might want to do is pull his jumper around a bit, it feels too bulky for me. Don't know if liquify can help here, might be a 'at the time' job. However, these are both very natural and very strong portraits and I'm sure any parent would be happy with these images. ...and it just shows how important it is to keep look over our images!
I agree with you that the jumper could have been pulled back down a bit. Jo was lying on my bed as I was testing out the Tamron SP90 for portraits and it had gathered round his shoulders where I asked him to move back a bit. After posting the images for my sister to see on her Facebook page, I've had two people ask me to photograph their kids lol.

Yeah, Jo is extremely pretty. He should have been a girl as he beautiful eyes and really long eye lashes. My sister has done a wonderful job of raising him. He is so old fashioned, in the way he speaks and is very polite. Not like Jack, who is a little chav in the making lol.
I have thousands of photographs of the boys and would love to put together a set of each of them. I found this other image of Jo, as well as converting another to black and white, although I might have another crack at it later.

Karen, if you right mouse click on this last photo and select "View Image", you can see what I mean about his eye lashes lol.
