Advice re decent telephoto for under £500

Hi Guys - I'm looking for a new lens with a range up to 300mm. I have a 7d with the Canon 15-85mm lens. The news lens will be for candids, landscapes - to a minor extent and probably for air shows (once again to a minor extent)

I have a limited budget of £500 - any advice as to what would be most suitable?
