Nice capture Tom. The foilage / leaf over the bird's head distracts my eye a little, other than that, you have a fine shot. With the DOF and the tail being out of focus, the image has that momentry feel to it; and I can imagine the little one flying from branch to branch, that said, a smaller aperture may have helped to crisp more of the bird's details without any loss to the photograph's attributes. Well done.

Nice bird pic. Plenty of detail and good dof.

i think youv'e chose one of the hardest things to photograph but one of the easiest to critique
i do quite a bit of bird photography and i know how hard it is to get right

this photo has the making of a good photo but like allready mentioned a smaller apeture would have put more of the bird in focus
for me what is in focus is nice n sharp with plenty of detail it's a pitty the DOF is so shallow

the background on a shot like this can't really be controlled but there's nothing stopping you cloning out the leaves and white branches to clean the background up a bit to take any distraction out of the picture so to speak

i like the photo and i'm just giving my views on what i think would make it a better image
