Perhaps you just need to adjust it in your image editing software to get the best out of it.

Yeah :-) I did think about having a mess about with it to see if something could be made with it.

Here's one I took on the 6th of last month, of the mist rising as the sun set.

Had to make a few adjustment in curves to show what I saw.

That's really quite stunning! Were the colours really like that too?

Thanks.

Yes they where, and I used the bush in the forground as the focus point. Even though this is a jpeg produced from the camera, without adjustments it would appear a bit flat.

Here's another from the same misty sunset.

The first one is before adjustments were made.

And the same one with a slight tweak in curves.

Nice blurred background with enough infomation to confirm where you where. I would have preferred a wider angle to show what she was photographing so it was in context.
Alas no she's not, that would be quite fun though.

And yep, I take your point about a wider angle - I'd have loved a wider angle too, but try telling that to the thousansds of revellers surrounding us ;-) I think I was lucky to get even this far back to take the shot, the number of shots I have that are blurred because somebody was jostling to get past

I've done it in b&w too and now that I've done that I think I prefer it more, can't decide whether to replace it or stick with the original.... hmmm....

Lots of people around does cause problems, that's why I try to stand out of the way and use a longer lens. I thing the colour works best with the Christmas lights in the background. Good luck with the rest of the year for the project.

New Year resolution ?? Get out more, that would be a good start

And more exhibitions/print sales...

And increase Alamy library so more sales to publishers etc...

And secure a book publishing deal...

Good job resolutions are usually out the window by the end of January, might manage the 'getting out more' bit

Cheers
Andy

Good luck! :-)

How will you go about getting a publishing deal? Is it like writing you just send off the photographic version of a manuscript, except its a set amount of photographs and artist statement?
