I plan to get out and take more photo's with more planning in advance so I know exactly what I am looking to achieve when out and not hope to get a great shot.

Also like wavemachine I plan to kick the smokes and stop smoking once and for all.

All the best for 2011

A few years ago I did project 365, I've decided to do the same again in 2011 in the absence of any other amazing project springing to mind.

Looking back at my previous 365 I've come on leaps and bounds (well in my humble opinion anyway) in terms of techniques so it will be interesting to see what comes out of it.

I'm also starting up a few other sideline projects too. I've always fancied doing a colour one, so I'm either going to keep to one colour or change my colour every month. I'm going to start with purple as it's a bit of a rarer colour to see out and about than blue or red. But I'll see how I get on with that.

I'm also going to do more food shots that aren't baked products, and try and make at least one trip a month to a place I've never been before - even if it's just a suburb or street of the city I live in.

Lots of plans.... whether I'll stick to them is another matter

I have just managed a whole year without cakes, crisps or biscuits. I'm going to hit the pringles tomorrow.

Next year I think I'll do something about getting a bit fitter, lots of lugging a 600mm around sports grounds should help.

Get out and about more to photograph more interesting places.
Lose the beer belly (I wouldn't mind but I don't drink )
Eat more healthily.
Win the national lottery jackpot and spend copious amounts of money of photographic goodies
Bore my girlfriend on a daily basis with camera talk

I'm giving up sarcasm - tonight I'm going to try and fit a full 365 days worth into the new years party I'm going to... It'll be great! Oooops, there I go again..

[QUOTE=Reinardina;31798]I try to keep an eye on composition, focus etc, but often get carried away and come home with loads of pictures which I thought, would be 'special' and very often, when I see them on screen, are not. So, in a way, that is a learning curve as well.

That happened to me the other night. I saw an amazing fog scene and really liked all the street lights and the results were just not what I thought they would be. A bit frustrating really because with the naked eye the location looked great.

Sounds a great idea, Amy. You could even do different shapes too, and look for them on the landscape or in towns. I was thinking of photographing the sausage roll brigade in my home town! Sounds daft but all you see in Wrexham is people walking around eating sausage rolls out of paper bags! :-) I just don't fancy a punch in the face lol

I have the same problem. The photograph which I am taking looks fine in the veiw finder. However, when it is uploaded it never looks as good.

I don't usually do resolutions. However, I am going to try and become fitter in the coming new year. Having retired earlier this year I am no longer as active as I used to be. I would also like to become more proficient in the use of my Nikon D90.

Happy New Year everyone and thank you for the advice so far.

Work and a pregnant wife kept me from being able to do much photography during 2010, so I'll be aiming to change that in 2011. Though it's more an intention than a resolution.
