Wow, that's stretching it a bit Keith.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all. Hopefully Santa will deliver all that is expected but above all I trust it will be buckets full of health which is something that cannot be wrapped up nicely in paper with a ribbon.

For the benefit of any other fellow countrymen - Fröhliche Weihnachten und ein gutes Neues Jahr.

I may go out and try (again) to shoot a particular area of the Common. It is beautiful, but I cannot get it right. Have been back several times now and every time it is not how I 'see' it in real life.

As I don't drive (had to give up my licence when my eyesight deteriorated) I will have to rely on leg power, so I won't venture out very far.

Have a good Christmas everyone!

Reinardina.
Why doesnt it look the same, because of the colours, lighting or the details?

It's funny how people worry about how much they eat between Christmas and New Year. They should be worried about what they eat between New Year and Christmas!

Have a good one everyone - I have my first portrait commission shoot on Monday. Perhaps I will be brave enough and post the results on the threads.

Regards,
Denise

I have been planning to get some pics of the tree and ornaments, etc at night. I have just not had the time. I was up until 1:30 this morning wrapping presents. My wife is out getting some last minute things and different wrapping paper for "santa" to use. I will be cleaning the house in the few minutes. She is no good at it by my standards anyway, once you have cleaned a navy destroyer (officer cadets are treated like crap by the men because they can be , you know how to clean! )

All three really. Most of the time I 'hand held' the camera, but earlier this week I actually dragged the tripod along, and I'm still not happy. Part of the problem might be the fact it is rather gloomy and my camera isn't all that good in low light. There's also strong contrast between one area and the next, but even if I manage to 'keep out' the light bit, it doesn't work.

Once I find the time to really 'dig in,' I might put two or three shots on the critique thread to see if you can help to get a better result.

Reinardina.

I retired from the NHS earlier this year and so I can empathise with you. This will be the first Christmas off for me in five years. Make the most of your days off Cathus.

Good luck for Monday Denise

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all and yours.
