Snowy tree

I spotted this tree whilst out on a walk today and thought that it made some great abstract shapes. Any C&C welcome.

Well spotted but would suggest it's needs adjustment with brightness/contrast to make it zing.

Reminds me of my 'gnarled' photo (the twisted roots). Mine benefited from less brightness and more contrast.

I've been doing a lot of snow photos recently and almost all of them need to have brightness and contrast adjusted. I'm sure if you do this, the picture will go form 'nice' to 'dramatic'!

Thanks for your comments guys. The main reason that I didn't take the conversion too far is that there was a good deal of texture in the tree trunk and branches and I was trying to preserve some of it. I have now had a play with it and this is version 2. Am I on the right track? Any further suggestions welcome.

Hi Steve, I agree with you. I prefer first untouched photo. The textures in the bark of the tree are lost in the second photo. It's a great shot.

Mmmm, Thanks for your comments John. Interesting. Some like with the detail and some without. But, as ever, it is all down to personal preference. It would be a dull old world if we all liked the same thing. lol
