Construction zone

I recently received a photo radar ticket in the mail it was for travelling 81km in a 60km zone the fine was doubled because it said “exceed maximum speed limit for highway under construction/repair and person present”, it was taken in a long stretch of a construction zone (2 kilometers) but in that particular area there has not been a construction worker within 1000 meters of the camera and operator on the days before and after and the day of ticket. I talked with the Crown Prosecutor today I was willing to pay the fine as if it was a regular fine but they would not negotiate that low but was willing to reduce it by $80.00 (the fine was for $259.00 a regular fine is $129.00). I have contacted the construction company they are willing to testify that there was no workers assigned to that area (even the construction manager agrees with me) any suggestions to help me better prepare myself?

I think you're going to have to pay up as there MAY WELL HAVE BEEN workers in the area. How could you know that there were not? You ignored that order and are therefore culpable.
Always a pain paying up, chalk it up to experience

I agree. Pay up and be done with it. Otherwise, consult your lawyer rather than photographers who won't have the first clue about speeding law.

what a strange first post on a photography forum, I assume you Googled photo radar as this is a term for a speed camera in your country?

This is a photography forum, nothing to do with speeding enforcement.

LOL. I am guessing he is from Alberta, they have photo radar out there (mentioning dollars, and the CP). We did for a while in Ontario but a change of government meant a change in policy.
