Canon 7D video playback flicker

I have recently purchased a canon 7d, When using the video function and record video during playback on the canon screen it plays back fine, however if I download it to any media source is when my frustration really starts. I get a flicker during playback which I’m sure is not normal?

This also happens even when I connect the camera to my TV via a HDMI cable it. It’s not a smooth replay.

Can anyone help me? Has anyone had the same experience?

You don't tell us where you are located........Europe or N.America? The reason for asking is if in Europe have you checked to see that your camera is set up for PAL. If in N.A. of course, then you should choose NTSC.

I was going to suggest using a different video player on your computer. I have similar issues with my 5D MkII, in one video player it drags & stutters but in the others it plays fine.

But if it's happening when you replay it via the TV then maybe that's not the issue.

I have checked the country settings & its on PAL, Also it cant be the video player as i get the same result from a direct cable link to a TV which may suggest the memory card speed, does anyone know what the minimum speed requirements on card for video plaback on HD 1029?

You probably need a UDMA card with at least 30mb a sec or 200x, but faster is good. I use the Lexar professional UDMA 300x
