Ok, if you're getting the same from Canon and Adobe it must be something with the printer - and I think Forseti is right, it sounds like the print head.
I would check the warranty on the print head - or the whole printer. You shouldn't have issues like that in the first months of using it. My HP printer is like new and it's 5 years old. I would challenge their warranty. Did you buy it from a shop or online? There's no quicker way to get a problem solved than by dumping it on a shop's counter and talking about faults and poor quality in a loud voice - especially on a busy Saturday afternoon! Of course, cyber purchases are a little trickier.
I would have thought/hoped it was covered under the initial purchase warranty.
