can any one tell me how IS works

I.S, i think its safe to say a very clever and fast acting bit of kit.
How do they do it.

Basically gyroscopes. IS systems can either be in the lens itself or part part of the camera. which camera/lens set-up do you have?

Iam due an upgrade so thinking ahead it will either be A 7D or 5D full frame

for Canon camera the lenses have IS so you will need to check out which lenses have IS

In essence it is a gyroscope that is driven via a small motor.
