Never tried the Sigma 10-20 and therefore can't comment on it, although obviously it's popular.

However I can really recommend the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8. It's more zoom range that it sounds like because at these wide angles every mm of focal length makes a bit difference.

It's a great lens for under £500 because you do get f/2.8 and a very good buid quality, in my opinion much better than Tamron or Sigma
