Well, if the D7000 drops to £830 as quickly as the EOS 60D did I will be first in the queue!

Sorry, I'd not really looked for it but a couple of places I had seen it were selling between £1400 & £1500 so I presumed that's what it was.

They are a real camera store in a shopping centre in Middlesbrough, Cleveland (north of England) and they only sell UK stock, not imports, so I guess the answer is - yes.

I've never seen them advertise in photo mags but perhaps I don't read the right ones.

That's a very good price for the D7000 - well spotted OldBoy

If they don't advertise they keep their costs down and can probably afford to undercut everyone else. Well that's my theory anyway ????

DxOmark's D7000 sensor review is now available to see here. Not quite equalling the results achieved by a similar sensor in the Pentax K5 but there's not a lot in it. It is also interesting to compare the D7000's results with those of the D300s.

One thing I noticed was that the Nikon slightly pipped the Pentax in the Sports Low-Light ISO comparison. I'm just wondering though, since the Pentax K5 goes to ISO 51200 and the D7000 only goes to 25600, is the SNR test on the Pentax performed at the same as the Nikon, or is it performed at its lowest of 51200?? If its the latter then does this mean the K5 is only producing slightly more noise at 51200 ISO than the D7000 is at 25600??

Where's HinFrance when you need him lol??

It has been interesting to play with DxOmark's 'compare camera sensors' feature. I lined up the D7000, D700 and K5 and, regardless of overall score, the graphs clearly show how full-frame still rules in most respects - as you might expect. The D700 replacement could be awesome (as Americans like to say).

I knew the D7000 would be awesome too - there is in practical terms no difference in these results (check the graphs - the K5 is marginally better everywhere, but it is very slight).

These are two mold breaking cameras.

I wonder, however, what the Sony 580 will come out like? Same sensor again.

This level of performance is going to be the standard for APS-Cs from now on - they do somewhat dent the desire for FF
