I cant seem to find out how to change my name by looking through the the threads because they are so badly organized ....... it looks like the disorganization of the old site ..... can you at least sort the threads into some sort of logical order.

I dont mind the corporateRadar look but its so sloooooow on my work PC compared to bikeradar

sorry if all this has been said before but cant seem to find faq section.

I have just re-registered with the username of NormanLaw, which WAS available, so you may be able to re-register without the '2'. Of course, you'll have to set everything up from scratch again and your post count will be zero. You will need a different email address to register though as two accounts can't use the same address.

Yes creating another account with a different / dummy email address would work however then it would prove difficult receiving emails from the team or other members.

Renaming login accounts a is not big deal it should take a decent admin a few seconds to create and test.

I am disapointed that this problem has yet to be sorted when this problem obviously effects loads of valued members

Rach should have a email siting in her in box ......just to remind her we still have a problem with my login account

Hi all,

I've had a look into your login problems, and hopefully the following will be of some help to you:

@Browndog 2
You raised a couple of interesting points. First off, unfortunately the reason we can't register you as Browndog is that there is already a user with this name on the site. I appreciate that this must seem bizarre as you were both migrated from Digital Camera, but the naming conventions on the two sites are slightly different. Consequently, on Digital Camera, we had BrownDog and Browndog, because case-sensitive usernames were enabled. Like most sites, PhotoRadar doesn't use this case-senstive approach, and so there can only be one Browndog, even if he has a capital D in the middle. Why are you Browndog 2 then? Purely because the other BrownDog was registered on Digital Camera before your username. I know it's not ideal, but this was intended to provide the longest-serving members with the username's they'd had for years.

Secondly, you mentioned that you were having difficulty logging in. Could I just check that you're using 'Browndog 2' and not 'Browndog2' as you typed in your forum post above? I know it's a basic question, but let's start with the easy ones!

@Hybrid
I've just changed daisiemaetulip's password in the admin settings, then logged in, and it seemed to work fine for me. There could be an issue with the cache or the login process may be moving between the www and beta versions of the site. In either case, as a first step, could you ask her to clear the cache on her browser, and hopefully her username will take then. (She'll have to reset her password, unfortunately, as I don't want to post the temporary one I set up in here for obvious reasons!)

Hopefully that helps in some small way.

Cheers,
Thomas

Well, I'll pass the message on, but I suspect that she'll be less than impressed, what with the current situation of the website going live before it's fully functional, etc...

@Thomas Thanks for looking into this problem.

It all very strange, i first tried to login using you beta invite email
How to login
The above information will get you onto the site, but you'll need your login details to start uploading your photos and posting to the site, so here they are:

Username: browndog
Password: *******

As you can see i am lower case browndog however if i try logging with the above user name i cant. I then request a password reset, shortly after i receive this email
Dear browndog 2,

We’ve just been asked to reset the password for your account at PhotoRadar.

So now i have become browndog 2 and if i log out after i have changed my password i cant log in to reenter the web site ............

Just going to log out and try and log back in ........back soon

Back now .........

Ok if i login with browndog 2 i can log into the website however i am still confused why if i request a password reset for browndog i end up with a login name of browndog 2.

I would like my user name to stay as browndog, could this be sorted.

Cheers

David

What do you suggest ............. hang on how about a link in a new thread to your web site.

I admit there are important things going on around the world however this website only deals with photography and i am having problems with my login name so yes it is important to me.

Cheers
