No Gifts Available !!!!!

Signed up for my subscription of Photoplus a few days ago. Signed up online but forgot to enter a code for a free gift.

Phoned Future Publishing today and i was informed that all gifts were out of stock and none would be available for approx 28 days. Was told to ring back in a month to see if i could recieve a free gift.

Whats the point in offering free gifts when none are available or out of stock?

Not impressed !!!!

Michael

I have seen the same happen with other magazines. Subscribers invariably get their gifts even if belatedly.

Hi,

Apologies that you've experienced frustrations with our subscriptions service. All of our gift offers are specifically coded so that we can track responses which is why we have unique URLs and codes printed on our subscription adverts. We are indeed out of stock of particular items but we are waiting for this stock to come in shortly. We do also have other gifts in stock. Without knowing whicih gift you are after, it's difficult for me to comment on specifics. If you would like me to look into this in more detail, please email me at: verity.travers@futurenet.com

Thanks
Verity

If they aint stuck on the front of the magazine you could be waiting for ever to receive one. It's a marketing ploy that actually sucks, because those horrible plastic Chinese free gifts are usually useless anyway. That's why they are free.

Occasionally we do get out of stock of subscriptions gifts as they are so popular, but we are usually able to help - either by giving a due in date or offering some great alternatives! Just drop us a line and we'll put you in touch with the relevant people - who really do exist and are more than happy to reply promptly! All subscriptions complaints sent through to photoplus@futurenet.com or posted on the forums are dealt with within a week. Guaranteed.

I'm not sure if you're referring to PhotoPlus KeithT, but 99% of our subs gifts are made in the Western world. Our current gift is PhotoPlus Serif X4 software, which is made in the UK. Our previous subs gift was the Hahnel remote release, which is made in Ireland, and the PhotoPlus binder which was printed in the UK. We've also got a great gift this month made by Westcott in the US, but you'll have to wait and see on that one...

I'd disagree

Gifts I've received from the 3 mags I subscribe to (2 from DC Mag) are 2x Manfrotto monopods, 2x Kata bags and 1x Arctic Butterfly. Only one of the gifts has been worth less than the first year's sub fee.

Just to let you know that I'm still waiting for a Hahnel remote that was the free gift when I signed up on the 11th of June 2010!

Every time I ask where it is I get the same reply: 'Within 28 days.'

I have given up asking for it now and I shall NOT be renewing my subscription to a magazine that appears to be operating a con to get more subscribers.

Tony

Hi lysardman,

Sorry to hear you've been having problems with your subscribers gift.

Our supscriptions team (a company called DSB) are unfortunately not managed internally, so you may get some funny answers from them if they don't know the information you require!

If you drop an e-mail through to photoplus@futurenet.com or Verity on our in-house subs team (I think she noted her e-mail address at the top of this thread?) you should have your issue resolved within the next 5 days.

Hope this helps!

I think it is very sad that some people seem to subscribe to a mag for the free gift, surley its the quality of the magazine that you should be interested in, not the gift!!!
