canon Shutter Remote

hi

i'm planning on buying a remote for use with tripod and was just wondering if the remote, apart form taking stills, also acts as a start/stop button when in shooting mode? I have a 500d so plan to make use of the shooting capabilities if the remote allows it.

anyone know?
cheers

Ben

Hi Ben, welcome to the forum

I don't know which button you press to start and stop the video on the 500D. If it's the shutter button then it should work. If it's any other button on the camera, it won't do it.

Ah man that's a shame.
The 500D has a seperate button for start/stop, next to the screen and white balance button (i don't know why it's just awkward).

thankyou for your reply anyway chris!

Ben
