FSC and PEFC paper

Hi there,

I'm just in the throws of starting to sell my photo's locally and I'm trying it hard to find any recommended suppliers or specific paper with good 'green' credentials.

Ideally I'm looking for something stamped/approved by the FSC or PEFC, available in the standard A4/A3 sizes that give a good level of print with an inkjet printer.

A simple google search brings up quite a lot of information on the two organisations above, but I'm struggling to find a supplier - preferable one in the North West (Lancashire), local to where I live, to continue with the 'green' approach.

Does anyone know where I'd be best looking? If there's nobody in the North West then I'm happy to start casting the net a bit further.

Many thanks.

Hahnemuhle BAMBOO paper........ you can't get much more environment-friendly than that. It grows faster than it could be harvested.

To quote from the blurb....
Natural warm tone paper made from bamboo, a renewable source for paper. The traditional Hahnemühle paper mill has developed the worldwide first Fine Art inkjet paper made from bamboo fibers. The natural white paper with a warm tone combines spiritual photography with environmental considerations. "Bamboo 290" consists of fibers from highly renewable bamboo grass. Hahnemühle will donate a portion of the revenues to supporting environmental projects.

Bamboo 290 – made from 90% bamboo fibers and 10% cotton – combines spiritual photography with environmental friendliness. This natural warm-toned and OBA free genuine art paper offers maximum aging resistance. It guarantees an extremely large color gamut and a high color density. 280 gsm - 19.7 mils - whiteness 83% - opacity 99%

Thanks Geoff,

I've never heard of bamboo paper before - I'll see if I can hold of some and see how the prints come out!

The FSC and PEFC are the 'marks' of approval I'm ultimately looking for

I just wonder if any people in the forums use the paper they recommend as I'm having trouble actually finding any suitable for photography prints, its mainly thin photocopier sheets. I know there are papers out there though!
