Yes - is it a lot cheaper in North Wales then?

When I was a student my room cost something like £250... and that was just a room in a not overly nice house...

I don't know what the hours are like while you're at Uni but you could look around for jobs in the galleries/museums around Cardiff to help you out a bit? Luckily for me there's quite a lot now, especially in comparison with other big cities nearby like Bristol, can be quite the treat if you look in the right places.

And yes I'm sure you will get there eventually, I've heard so many great things about the course - the MA show is coming up soon actually, I'll have to remember to check it out.

I think the prices are the same here to be honest. That was a lot just for a room!

I've thought about taking the plunge and trying some wedding photography with the aim of maybe doing weekend weddngs when I get to Newport eventually. That woulld cover the rent and also my weekends would be spent doing what I love. The gallery ideas are good too!
I've even debated whether I need to go to uni at all. I rememeber making a post here last year asking if you do need a degree to get on and Ben Birchall replied that nobody he knew had one and that it was just experience. I know when I did the 2yr photography course in college all my days were spent doing theory or work book stuff and I had hardly anytime for the photography!

I was wondering if one of the entrants in the Wildlife POTY is in this months mag?... certainly looks like the same shot to me in Hotshots... it's a great shot "Sun and dust by slavik" and if it's not the same it sure looks it! : )

According to Exif data and the blurb in WPOTY competition on ewas taken on D300 and the other on a D700 and if you look at them both larger and look closely at the front left paw of the right hand cheetah you will see they are in slightly different places.
