You're right about shooting people - just do it and look confident. I have to admit to being a little out of my comfort zone though with people - I have had someone walk over and put their hand in front of my lens. Mind you, when he got to me he didn't look quite so confident of tackling a 6' 5" photographer!

I must get doen to Bournemouth Gardens for some candids - usually plenty of retirees asleep in deckchairs. And that's just my parents

I would say, reading the OP's original post, is that he or she has developed a photographer's eye. It's quite funny, because when this happens to me I have most likely haven't had my camera with me and could kick myself.

If a shot turns you on, then it is generally because all the elements in it have come together very nicely.

Yup very annoying - and of course the solution is to always have a camera with you. How many times have I heard that and I still don't do it

I see this same image every day, on the bus head phones on sun glasses on, closed off from the people around them, I have wanted so much to find the right moment to frame the feeling of desolation wilst amongst others.
