Cast shadows are sometimes good and sometimes bad..this depends if you want to use it or want to use the product image only...
For example, if you have multiple lightings pointed towards a product, lets say a bottle, there will be several cast shadows. If you are aiming to use it for advertising, you wont be able...because in this case, it is affecting the aesthetics of the product...
Otherwise try to shoot them when there are no direct lightings on them..
