I for one was warned several times, through email and reading on the change to PhotoRadar.
Tip - One should always store a set of originals, as a backup. I'm not sure I'll bother reposting my images from DCM? Maybe just top 10 or something!?
I would have wished for an announcement from DCM/ PhotoRadar, that the latter was going Live! Just pure coincidence. Hope bugs are taken care of and this was no rush to go live in August, just because it was earlier advertised to do so?! Hope this turns out to be a good site - needed! There are a few bits and pieces that are troublesome, but I'll get back to those after some more testing.

Thumbs up

I think i was warned several times and i do believe there was a long discussion regarding galleries on the dcmag forum, so if you had been keeping yourself updated you should have known.

Im liking the new feel of the site, yes there are a few glitches still but that's to be expected!

Well done in my opinion!

True, a few glitches are always common when a new site appears. However, the glitches on this site have been reported for at least a month, the site itself was in the planning stages for over a year, so there's really little excuse for the amount of unfixed 'glitches' here. The 'glitches' are reported to have been passed on to the developers, and fixes have been promised.

And when the promised fixes don't appear, after problems having already been reported by more than one person, not to mention the treatment of various long-term (and experienced) members, and certain dodgy entries in the sites T&C's... well, is it any surprise there's some annoyed members?

A bit annoying having to log in each time although perhaps there will be a facility to remember passwords?

And have to use control & + (or mouse scroll wheel) to make the site fit my screen, but at least that makes the print larger too!

Just had a look at the videos - they really are quite impressive now - fill the whole screen (unlike the mag CDs!!) Hooray.

I guess it will take a time to get used to as with all things new but I rather like it; might even get round to laoding some pics....

The email system for updating/inviting seemed to be seriously flawed. Many of us never actually received any updates and our 'exclusive invitation' did'nt arrive and had to be done manually. So, for anyone who may have had a gallery but had'nt visited for a while it was quite possible not to be aware it would disappear. Supposedly the old site was to be there for a while after this one went live - you could'nt add to it but could access it for a period. That did'nt seem to happen - it just vanished. So it's just bad luck if you were'nt lucky enough to be kept informed.....and this would appear to be as good as it gets

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry if you didn't receive any warning about the DCMag closure, but yes it had been announced a while back via a few emails so I'm afraid your photos will have been lost.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused,

Thanks,

Amy

I don't like it either.
This is the most complicated site I have ever belonged to and now my photos (not that many) and comments have all gone

Hi Wizpurrz,

I'm sorry you don't like it - would you mind telling me what it is you find complicated about the site and perhaps I can help?

I'm sorry you didn't realise that your photos would be lost once we launched, as has been said previously several emails were sent out and there was lots of discussion about it in the forums.

Thanks,

Amy
