Easy, the Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 VR which I use as a walkaround lens normally with the 1.4 converter attached. With this I can shoot birds, sunrises/sunsets and landscapes. I can swap the 1.4 converter to the 2x converter to give me 400mm range.

I have the 50mm F1.4, but don't use it that much.

Hmmm. I'll swap it with you for a packet of Werther's Originals and a Sherbert Lemon

Only one lens? OMG. I think it would have to be a 10-500mm f2.8 VR with macro function.
