introducing Nick Owen; poem picture photographer

I am new here and have not worked out how to be noticed here till now. I enjoy flickr very much as a social network and place to get feedback on my work. Here I have hardly had a comment.

I make poem pictures, using words with my images. I entered the poty for this first time here and uploaded quite a few images.

But the rating system seems not to work for me.

If anyone can give me advice on making my experience on this site more worthwhile and enjoyable do let me know

Welcome!

The member status reflects the number of posts you have made and has nothing to do with age! So you could have 'member' status within a few weeks, if you keep adding comments and posts to the forums. I have been on this forum - in its current guise - for over a year and have only just hit the 'member' stratosphere.

As for getting comments on your work, it may be an idea to post into the 'Photo Critique' section of the forums or the individual sections, like Landscape, Black and White, Portraits etc. Those seem to generate a few comments and suggestions. Also, ASK for your photo to be critiqued/commented on. Sounds obvious, but seems to work. Although generally, people are a bit lax to comment and critique on this site - not sure why.
