History brush...

Hello all, can anyone help me here?

I can't seem to get my history brush in CS4 to do anything at all.

What I initially wanted to do was convert an image to greyscale and then partially undo some bits using the history brush but it just won't do it.

I have viewed a few tutorials online and followed them to the letter but it still won't work.

What am I missing here?

converting to Greyscale is the problem. Go to "Image">>" Desaturate", then your History brush will work.
