need a 50mm prime for E520

Hi Guys! I'm bluechair, you'll usually find me heckling noobs over on bikeradar.com... but here I am to be heckled myself.
I've just started some freelance writing but I'm required to send decent photos with the articles which means I need to start being my own photographer. Next weekend I'm covering a big article that I hope to be published but alot of it will depend on the photos that go with. I've previously owned a 350d so know the basics of manual control. That was passed on a few years back and I'm now on an Olympus E520.
Having spoken with a pro photographer, I have learnt that I will need a prime lens - i'll be up close capturing bikers, so fast shutter speeds and wide apertures needed. Can anyone help me find a lens as though I have no prior experience to purchasing lens'.
All of the fixed focal lengths that I can find say Macro - but a macro lens isn't what I'm after is it?

I'll be around more often now sharing photos, seeking advice etc. I'll start dropping up things for your 'critiques'

I am pretty sure you are in the fortunate positon of being able to use any K mount lens on the camera .The second hand market could be the way to go.

Thanks Mat, I hadn't heard of K series lenses (never needed to pick up new lenses until now) but I'll get right on to looking them up. I'd found that Sigma do a few four/thirds lenses with this one being of particular interest though it's very expensive.
And I've just come across a fact that Olympus OM series lenses work with an adaptor - though I assume that I could get a variety of adaptors to fit a variety of lenses. An adaptot from Fleabay can be got for as little as a £15 and very fast prime lenses in the OM series for £80.

Thought I'd add this website - although written in 2008 it offered a complete list of lenses compatible with 4/3s bodies.

Don't worry too much about a prime lens saying its Macro, as this only means it is also capable of focusing on a subject that's very close the lens. Most fast prime 50mm macro lenses make superb portrait lenses too!

Thanks onion, I'll be keeping my eye out then. I've just bought a 23mm 2.8 OM series and an adaptor... I'm hoping for some excellent clarity shots.

Sorry to mislead .For some reason I thought it was Pentax you where referring to.Om adaptor is a great idea though.

Oh i'll just add - the 28mm f/2.8 is awesome! I can increase shutter speeds of a natural light indoors shot, no flash from about 1/13 on my kit lens to about 1/30 on the new one. Can't wait to put it to test on a moving subject.
No auto focus and no registry of aperture value whilst using the OM lens though.
