Question Original colours of the taken picture in Photoshop CS4.

Hello!

Can someone please help me or explain what am I doing wrong?
I shoot in RAW with my Sony A300 and use Photoshop CS4 for editing.
When I open my RAW file with Photoshop it loses its original colours. Becomes less saturated. Is it normal? I like the original colours that my camera produces and want to improve just a little bit, but when the file is opened in Photoshop I immediately get unsaturated picture and a lot of improvement work to do.
Please help me!
Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Elena

Hi Elena, welcome to the forum

Yes - this is normal. When you shoot in RAW your camera doesn't apply any colour, tonal or sharpening adjustments to the image. However, it does embed a small thumbnail jpeg in the RAW file which is used for displaying the image on the cameras screen.
So when you look at the screen you are seeing a jpeg image that has been processed by the camera, not the RAW file.
