Generally speaking, I think thats true. These two lenses are a good example. They use different optical layouts but the standard battery of lab tests on them shows differences that are hard to spot in the lab, let alone in the real world.

Does the 18-125 have OS?

Few weeks in and very happy with the Sigma 18-125mm. Feels nice and well made. Little heavier than I anticipated, but nothing to worry about. Quiet. Pictures taken with it look good, and any problems with them are beyond my level of expertise. The reach can feel a little limited, but that is always the case. I borrowed a 400mm lense at the w/e and that felt limited too. Its a 'you always want more' thing!
