Hi Paul,

For picture quality there is nothing really to separate them because they both use the same sensor and image processor. The skill of the user will play a bigger part in the quality of the shots than the hardware that's used.

Even with that £200 discount the cheapest deal on an E620 body only is just over £500 and the cheapest deal for the E30 body only is about £750, but keep checking the camera price buster website for up to date information on the best deals to be had.

Hi Ian,
I am going for one from Calumet who are quite a well known camera shop and they are selling the camera and the 14-42 lens kit for £515 I thought that was a bit of a bargain. My camera goes on ebay later today!
Heres a link to the camera http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/item/359-620B/

Hi Paul,

That does sound like a good deal. Personally, I only need the purchase the body as I already have a few lenses including the 14-42.

I hope to see some great shots that you've taken with it in the not too distant future.

My apologies for being late in but I've only just had my invite!

As has been said above, the only reason to switch systems is if you want to. You certainly don't need to change manufacturers to get better shots. Given that Olympus are still producing some of the best lenses on the market I'd consider the E-620 and a fancy pants lens!

My shopping list is for either the Olympus E620 or the Nikon D5000. The only problem with the Nikon is that i would have to buy VR lenses, i am not bothered about video, but never say never.

Stick with Olympus, they make great lenses and you have inbuilt stabilization with the body plus the Four Thirds system means lighter/usually smaller cameras. BTW like your website.

Thanks Phad,
Yes your right, it is the best option i think. I decided to renew my 14-42 lens as mine is a few years old and i know they have updated it and it is supposed to be better than the old one and it will only cost about £30 compared to some prices.
Loved your website, great b&w and your eye for lines is really good.
Cheers
PAul
