My take is quite easy. Iuse the 5d classic and though it's a great camera it really needs a fair bit of dust management to keep sensor and viewfinder pristine. To be honest, if I were in your shoes I would definitely consider the 7d and the EFS 15-85 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens which a pal of mine has just bought into. The results he has shown me are outstanding enough for me to feel quite envious. Good luck.

thanks again to all of you for the advice, i picked up my 7D today! OMG its amazing! things have come a long way since the 20D!!!!
