Question Watermark

HI
I am sure this is probably very basic however i want to create my own watermark to use with my Clikpic site.
I'm using Elements 7 but can't get the background clear and when i try and use via clickpic it doesn;t show up?
clikpic states it must be clear back ground .png or gif file
I have an image of my logo i want to use in various file formats
any thoughts please?

I am guessing all you need to do is start your PSD as a transparent document (so that you are starting with a blank document showing white and grey chequers), then place your logo onto a layer without adding any form of background, then when you save it type the desired file name followed by .png

or to follow all the above up to typing your desired file name and below that there is a drop down feature where you can choose file type, there you can choose png

Hope this helps

I do not use Elements 7 - but it may be a problem I come across if I mistakenly try to imbed / blend a layer of a different file format.

Another Elements Transparent background tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KB-h9eOfZFs

If you want a copyright symbol hold down ALT and punch in 0169. ©. You can do this in Photoshop by opening a text layer and typing your name and date and the copyright symbol. You can position the text with the pointer tool which will appear when you move the mouse beneath it. Position it and combine layers. Once you have combined the layers they will be fixed on the image. Like MS Word you can change style, colour and size from the Photoshop menu bar.

If you want the copyright to appear as a watermark, using the text layer method, hold down ALT and 0169, highlight it and increase the point size to suit. Move the enlarged symbol to the centre and then reduce opacity to around 10%. Combine layers and job done.

I created a brush, and simply add this into the image (reducing opacity to suit). It spoils them a little sometimes, but it also means any unscrupulous web-thief will have to do some editing or cropping if they are going to use them!
