Image rights query
Hi everyone.
Sorry about posting yet another question but I could do with some clarification.
If I take a photo of, say, a National Trust / English Heritage stately home from the side of a public road or other common land (ie. I'm not standing on private land when I press the shutter), then am I right in thinking that the image I have taken is deemed to be from the public domain? If this is so, would National Trust / English Heritage have any claim to the image rights and any money earned from that image?
I know the situation with people requires model release forms to be signed, but what is the law with regards to buildings, monuments, etc.
Many thanks for any info provided.
Stu.
