Most of the well known on line sites are pretty reliable. When ordering I find it's usually best to phone to check availability as some sites don't get updated that quickly when stock is sold. Places I've used with no problems = srsmicrosystems.co.uk [next day service and very helpful - but not sure if they actually stock Canon!]. parkcameras.co.uk - another site recommended over the years by lots of DCMag site users. cameraworld.co.uk - I've used a few times - changed faulty goods with no quibble . Always worth checking out the bargain basement on warehouse express I saved £200 on a D300 with full warranty and a very cheap mint condition Sigma 70-200 that way. For second hand/refurb you could try the canon outlet on ebay. Also on ebay Kerso is highly recommended http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/kerso&ssPa...MEFSX:SELLERID

Would'nt recommend camerabox.

Hi Sue
Thank you for your comments, I was not aware of the Bargain Basement at Warehouse Express, they do have some very good items.

I have made my final decision, I went with the 50D, with four grandchildren to support, I just could not substantiate the 7D. I used Camera Price Buster to select the supplier, which they said on price that it was Warehouse Express at £895.00 including P&P, but when I went to process the order WE was saying £899.00 plus £5.00 for P&P. I placed the order with Jacobs at £899.00 including P&P. I will let you know how I get on with the purchase.

Just a bit of an update, placed order with Jacobs on Tuesday 25th May after being advised that the product would be shipped the next day and that I would receive the goods either Thursday or Friday. Just logged in to Jacobs website to find that the product is backordered. Now starting to lose confidence, perhaps all suppliers are the same, take the order and the money and then think about supplying the goods.

Thumbs up

In the end Jacobs came through, checked on Friday via their website, order status completed, but no tracking details, checked with Jacobs by phone, they said they were updating the information. Checked a couple of minutes later and the detail was posted. Also received a telephone call from Jacobs confirming that the goods had been shipped and they also told me the tracking status and that the goods would be delivered that day. Camera arrived Friday via DHL, very well packed, no damage. Very happy bunny.
