1st attempt at Infrared photography

This is my first proper attempt at Infrared photography.I did try in the past with an IR filter on my samsung dslr though the eposure time was long I wanted somethind more point and shoot. So I thought I would try modding a camera. So I got a HP 850 of ebay and modded it.
Here are my first efforts.I did not compose the shots as such just took a few snaps while walking the wife back to work after meeting her for lunch.

All I have done to the pics is use CS3 and and Channel mixer and selected monochrome on one or two of the pics I also tweaked the red level slider

ive just noticed the date and time in the exif data is wrong as i forgot to set the date and time on the camera silly me

Not bad for a first effort. Your pics will have far more impact if you can return to the same places and redo the images when the trees have more foliage. You will be surprised and impressed by how much difference it will make. I have just started in infrared photography myself. Check out my thread if you get a minute and you`ll see what i mean cheers Paul

As Paul2008 says...... IR really needs lots of green foliage to work on, though I quite like the effect on most of the above shots, and the sky has shown up well in most cases. Certainly leaves some burnt-out highlights and gives an 'over-exposed' look, but worth experimenting with.
