Anyone got a Giottos Carbon Fiber Tripod?

Does anyone on these forums use a Giottos carbon fiber tripod? Im considering to buy a GTMTL8351B tripod.

At the moment i use a Manfrotto 055xprob (aluminium) tripod, which is a really good tripod. But it's weight is horrible for long treks or mountaineering.

The GTMTL8351B can swivel the center column nearly in every direction. I wonder if it won't fall over when i attach my Eos 7d with my EF-S 17-55 and therefor always have to stabilize it with my camera bag or something else.

Also im not shure if the center leg and column joint is made of plastic or metal. Plastic tends to break in the cold.

Any experience with Giottos tripods ? Thanks!

I've just bought a Giottos 8360 and the centre joint is metal - magnesium I think.

It all seems pretty substantial, so i don't think there is much to break!
