Question Advice please

I am seriously considering purchasing a Canon EF300mm f2.8 IS USM lens to use with my EOS 7D because I feel I would benefit from the speed of the lens combined with the 8fps of the camera for my interest in nature and wildlife photography however it is a large chunk of cash to part with when unsure where to purchase or if you are doing the right thing.
I usualy use Warehouse Express as my supplier as they have always been fair and extremely efficient but I have been checking out prices and have come across a company called 'Simply Electronics'.
I wondered if anyone out there had used them as their price for this lens is extremely competitive and I could also purchase a 1.4x extender together with the lens from them for the same money as the lens would be alone from Warehouse Express.
My brother has told me to beware of 'grey imports' when spending this sort of cash and I would rather stick with a company I know if necessary than save money to buy trouble!
Any help on this would be appreciated and - am I doing the right thing in getting this lens anyway?
Many thanks

Hi,
I don't think that they are a 'scam company' as such, but I think their administrative office is in Kowloon, Hong Kong. I have never bought from them but a quick look on the internet brings up quite a few stories from people who have paid their money, still waiting for the goods and having trouble getting their money back or getting any response from their admin.
I guess that if you're buying using a credit card you will have some protection if things get difficult.
Personally, I'd always buy from a company I know (and trust) - even if it does cost a bit more.

Thanks Stu1972
I was kind of hoping someone would say this as my brother pulls my leg about me always being prepared to spend that bit extra and not take a risk on a deal but I would rather not have the hastle especially on this expensive glassware.
Much appreciated.

Simply Electronics have received an enormous amount of negative press.

I've never used them myself but a couple of people who were on this forum a while ago never received their items, although the money was taken.

Personally, I'd avoid them.
