DSC-HX5 vs DMC-TZ10?

Planning on getting a long zoom compact. The have DSC-HX5 and DMC-TZ10 similar spec, some manual controls, HD video, gps. But the sony is 50 pounds more, has sweep panorama and a cmos sensor with full Hd video. The TZ10 has 12.1 mega pixels, longer zoom, a/s modes and a better screen but is slightly larger.
Appreciate any advice

To be honest there isn't much between them.

Ignore the sweep panorama mode, the files it generates are really low resolution and pretty poor. You can use free software to make a decent proper panorama from normal photos taken with ANY camera and they'll be hundreds of times better.

Personally I think the Panny TZ range are the best in their class. Panasonic invented the "Travel Zoom" cameras and they still make the best ones.

I'd agree with Chris, both are very good cameras and there's little to choose between them. What edges it for me, is the Panasonic has a Leica lens and the optical quality of it just pips the Sony into second place, but it is close!
