Faulty camera advice please

I have a Fuji Finepix S5700 that has developed a fault. When powered on all that happens is the power LED lights up but nothing else happens, no lens movement, no display on the EVF or rear screen, nothing. I have changed the batteries and made sure the card cover is properly closed. Is this perhaps a known fault? Or an easy fix? Or am I looking at a dead camera?

My honest advice to you, if the camera is under warrenty take it back to where you bought it, if out of warrenty do so any way as they should, in theory know the answer.
