Niggly problem

Hi all, have uninstalled some programs from my C drive to gain more space but can't seem to now delete the icons on my desktop. Have right clicked on them and then tried to delete them but to no avail. Would someone out there share the knowledge before I go mad.
cheers

We might be able to help but not without a lot more information!!

What version of Windows are you using?

How did you uninstall the programs (via what method)?

Have you got the appropriate permissions?

Have the programs actually gone?

My guess is the Icons are linked together and you need to delete them in the order they were installed. I've had this before and I had to go into Dos and delete them in order.

try downloading a programme called advanced system care .(free version .) from IOBIT

it not only scans registry etc but will clear things like invalid shortcuts .A simple one click solution to keeping a pc tidy .I use it regularly with no problems at all.
