So you won't be needing the EXIF data then. Good.

Ben or Amy,

I assume entries with copyright signatures and or watermarks to disuade open Internet theft are acceptable, on the basis that when / if a larger file size is requested for the final judging process, those images would be submitted as clean images?

Also, if Exif data is required, where is it to be placed? ; as I cannot see a form section to fill in.

Many thanks

Andy .. when you upload, it grabs any exif data that maybe present. In the few I've uploaded, there has been a space to add Aperture and things... stuff that was missing from my exif. (not sure why it was missing.. but it's not compulsory to fill it in!!)

My question to the team is Can we NOT vote?? A quote from how to enter is...

"but only registered members of Digital Camera Photographer of the Year or PhotoRadar will be able to vote and comment on your image.", but there is NO place to vote.! Am I missing something??!!

I would like to vote on things I like rather than just comment.. and I don't like the secret code we have to try and decypher just to add a comment. I can't read those things half the time and I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

Is it me who can't vote due to my settings being wrong.. see other thread?!!

I've just noticed in the rules.. we can enter 10 photos per category... but if we enter more than 5 we are not eligible for shortlisting! What's that about? Either we only enter 5 per category.... or not.

How to Enter...
section 4. # You may enter up to a maximum of ten (10) photos per category.

From the FAQ
Can I enter all the categories?
"Absolutely. You can enter up to five images in each category if you wish. Please note that if you enter more than five images into a category, you will be ineligible for the shortlist of that category. All the categories are open for entries from the start of the competition."

Please tell us just to enter 5 per category or 10 per category. It's not fair to have in the small print hidden in the depths of the competition that if we put 8 in a category we will automatically disqualify ourselves. Why bother entering...?! We could just post our photos in the forum!

I see you have Rosemary Wilmman as a judge, I'm sure she is pleased to be Exhibitions Manager of the RPS as well as President!! Does Leslie Goode know?
Black and white images are acceptable in any of the categories, so there's lots of opportunities for mono shots . Good luck.

Hi,

Entering 10 pictures won't make you ineligible, the numbers in the FAQ had slipped through the net when we were changing them from last year's system - which only allowed 5. Please accept our apologies and assurance that entering 10 won't affect your chances - the FAQ has now been amended to reflect this.

You can vote by clicking on the thumbs up icon underneath any given picture. The most popular pictures can be seen by going to each category page and clicking "sort by Highest Rated" where the images with most votes will be displayed first.

The spam bot filter is there at the moment as we have experienced some problems with spammers hitting the site and leaving advertising comments on people's pictures, however we hope to be able to remove this soon.

If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask,

Best of luck with the competition!

Amy

Hi, there.I have a further comment too: does it allow the images like double exposure in the competition or cropping the images to get a level, without changing a composition?

Thanks and good luck to all

The Exif data is pulled from your file info automatically - you can change this manually if you wish.

It's OK to include copyright info signatures if you want to. At the final judging stage we will request high res files which will need to be 'clean' of watermarks etc. Good luck!!

Cropping and double exposure are allowed... However, remember that radically cropping an image will be detrimental to the overall quality. Also note that double exposure might be suited to some categories more than others, i.e it's a technique that would sit well in the Creative Licence category but not so well in Documentary or Wildlife. Good luck! Ben

If you don't want to include Exif data you can remove it manually. However many other Photoradar users find it useful to see what settings fellow photographers have used as part of the learning process. Good luck!! Ben
