Thumbs up POTY 2010 Launched!

It's here at last.... Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2010 is now officially launched!

This year we've got a couple of new categories, revamped oldies and some classic favourites.

See our news story to find out all the information you could ever need and see if you could win £10,000 and be crowned photographer of the year...

Good Luck!

The wildlife category, can it also be animals in a zoo? And you know it says in the rules about the entries have to be 2mb, I never realised and it allowed me to upload a 5mb file, is that ok? It didnt say I was over the limit or anything.
Thanks

Karen

I'll see how it goes. But not having a Canon camera I don't suppose there's really much point. Unless you will be judging WITHOUT the EXIF data this year.

Hi Karen,

Apologies, 5MB is fine, the rule regarding 2MB was out of date, the rules page has been updated now.

And animals in a zoo are also fine.

Best of luck!

Amy

Camera brand has absolutely no influence on the judging process!

I have a further comment: on the DC POTY 2010 website, under the 'How to Enter' the following:

'4.You may enter up to a maximum of ten (10) photos per category.
5.Images should not exceed the maximum size of 5MB, in JPEG format.'

However, under the 'Rules' section of the same website, it says entries are restricted to a maximum of 5 per person per category.
So which is the correct version? Please could you clarify?

Thanks

Hi Stormsong,

Apologies again for the mix up - this has been corrected now - 10 is the number you're allowed to enter per category.

Thanks and good luck!

Well that just about knocks it on the head for a lot of people if there is no B+W section, call yourselves a photographic competition!

I see you have Rosemary Wilmman as a judge, I'm sure she is pleased to be Exhibitions Manager of the RPS as well as President!! Does Leslie Goode know?
